Well, both anime are really beautifuly done, they contain humour, romance and slice of life (sola has a bit more fantasy). The animation is outstanding and the plot is addicting. Both anime have lovable characters that never get boring. I think they both are a really good watch.
After her grandmother dies, thirteen year-old Kana Nakamachi runs away from home convinced her absent parents will sell her. She tries to find a job, but with nowhere willing to hire a girl of her age without parental consent, she is back at square one. Then, to make matters worse, a young girl called Yume crashes her bicycle into Kana and knocks her unconscious! Following this chance encounter, Kana learns of a job vacancy at the newspaper company that Yume works for and quickly applies. Now Kana has secured herself a live-in job delivering newspapers along with her new co-workers: lively Yume; quiet Yuki; drunken and perverted Haruka; money-hungry Hinata; and grade school deputy manager, Saki. From memorizing her paper route to learning how to ride a bicycle to fixing her terrifying smile, Kana’s new life has only just begun.
While both plots seem to have nothing to do with each other the characters are very interesting and tend to make you laugh at weird situations they are in. Both anime have shoujo-ai tones but Candy Boy takes it much more serious than Kanamemo. If you liked one check out the other as they are both wonderful stories that will make you go awww.
On Astraea Hill stand 3 prestigious female-only academies known as St. Miatre, Spica, and LeRim; and though the schools are separate, they share a single campus and dormitory. Nagisa Aoi is a 10th grader who has decided to transfer to St. Miatre's Girls' Academy. Though her transition has been smooth so far, while exploring the campus Aoi inadvertently falls down a hill, sees the beautiful Shimuza, and promptly (not to mention embarrassingly) faints. Nagisa continues to see Shimuza out and about, but soon discovers that she is the "Etoile" -- a well respected girl within all of the schools. With Shizuma taking a liking to the new transfer student Nagisa, secrets of Shizuma's past will unravel over the coming school year.
if you liked candy boy, u will definitely like this cute series also. Drawn in a beautiful aand extremely cute way as candy boy and filled with mega cute moments. if you like a little bit of more yuri'sh things than just holding hands this series has to offer very nice, subtile, but nontheless, hot scenes. the story line is very good as well. it is so unusual to see an anime with more realistic ways of relationship than just a couple or love triangle, this one, on the other hand, has to ofer lots ogf complicated stories and threads of affection towards one or other girl. a very marvelous series for those, who have an excellent and specific taste for yuri.
It's the first day of middle school for Akari, and the enthusiastic girl is determined to reinvent her personality and have tons of fun in the process. Along with her friends, mischievous Kyouko, serious Yui, and adorable Chinatsu, the girl joins the Amusement Club, a group for students who just want to hang out and joke around! Over the year, the girls befriend upperclassmen, impersonate their favorite magical girl characters, and develop crushes... sometimes even on each other!
Many of the comedic elements in Candy Boy are in Yuru Yuri. Both have main characters that have relationships that seem unusually close, and they both have a borderline obsessive admirer to cause confusion. Yuru Yuri does a better job, I think, but if you like the jokes in this show, you will most likely enjoy Yuru Yuri also.
