With these two anime's they both are very similar yet very diffrent at the same time as they are both about dolls/androids in which their purpose is to fight. however in angelic layer the story line is based on the owner of the dolls and in busou shinki it is based on the dolls point of view.
Kazuya Saotome is an electrical engineering student with a passion for computers, building his robot squid, and programming. One day he receives May, a hand sized cyberdoll, in a package from Cyberdyne Co. as a revenge tactic planted in a CD from his rival. With a little help from May to clean up his act, he may even be able to win over the heart of Kasumi, his landlord's daughter.
Both shows are about a normal human male who has tiny robot ladies helping him out with everyday life for some reason. Hand Maid May just has one little lady for the male lead where Busou Shinki's male lead has a whole harem full of little gals. That's all you really need to know. Check them out if you like this sort of thing.
In an era when ordering on the internet has become the norm, online vendors have a new favorite customer: Sakurada Jun! Inside is a sentient doll named Shinku, who is one of a special hand crafted set of dolls called Rozen Maiden. Luckily for Jun, not only does he get to keep her, but she's decided he'll be... her new servant?! Join Jun as he struggles to keep his sanity in a house full of dolls who all want his servant skills for themselves!
If you can watch a full anime series without getting annoyed by all the high-pitched, cutesy female voices, then these two shows are probably worth your time. Both feature a main male character surrounded by a set of little dolls with big personalities. Rozen Maiden is much heavier on the social issues and character development, while Busou Shinki is fluffy slice-of-life. If you ever wanted your own personal mini android or living doll, then these two series are right up your alley.
