Brave 10 and Hakuouki are both samurai era anime that centre around a strange girl who is in the care of one or more men. They have similar action and drama. If you like one, I suggest you watch the other.

they both have similar themes with the anime being centered around a main girl surrounded by samurai. Both have action and back stories. both have a art appeal with the characters in both animes feminine and "pretty". Hakuouki seems to be more appealing to girls though. If you like Brave ten you might like Hakuouki.

Set in similar periods of Japanese history Brave10 is more light-hearted than Hakuouki. The female leads in both are girls ignorant of their past and begin to effect those they meet. They are both very caring of their companions however the girl in Brave10 tends to cry more than in Hakuouki.

As they both have the fantasy/mythical element they are quite similar and are extremely enjoyable!

Brave10 and Hiiro no Kakera although set in different periods have similar plots; one girl who has mystical powers which she doesn't fully understand is protected by a group of boys/men whom also have powers. Both deal with gods and Japanese history/mythology.Brave10 is more humurous than Hiiro no Kakera and contains more characters.Hiiro no Kakera is still airing and so far there has been little character/plot development.

Personally I love both and can't wait to see if there is another series of Brave10 and am loving Hiiro no Kakera!

A team of unique fighters (7 in Samurai 7, 10 in Brave10) assemble to take down an enemy. A young woman is the one to bring these fighters together, and they are tasked with guaranteeing her protection as well. Samurai 7 is far more serious than Brave10, but both include war, action, and adventure. If you liked one, give the other a try.
