Synopsis:

In the present, Japan is under assault by murderous creatures known as Aragami whose origin and purpose remain unknown. The fate of Japan and the world itself lies with one young woman named Momiji who bears the burden of the Kushinada -- the one who must be sacrificed to silence the Aragami forever. With the help of Mamoru Kusanagi (a human and Aragami hybrid), and an agency filled with firepower-toting bodyguards, Momiji must use her Aragami-sensing powers to help save mankind; but will she ultimately have to lose her own life to save the lives of so many others?

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World

One day a light descends from the sky and splits into the ideal girls of Takeru and Ryou. That is where this gentle and vaguely romantic story about our ugly and beautiful world begins. Soon enough the story plummets into the secrets of global extinction and the meaning of life. Everything in this world that is beautiful has something ugly in it, and that ugliness is part of the secret of its beauty. Even for romance this is true...

WHile there is world of difference in the feel of those series, the main plot and the characters are somehow similar. IN both series it turn around some sort of doomsday scenario, with a romance as some sort of minor subplot. No ecchiness / nudity in Blue Seed, while Kono Minikuku Mo Utsukushii Sekai *does* have a significant ammount of that.

Kamui has returned to Tokyo with a traumatizing past, but he is not the only one. Many people are returning to Tokyo for the same reason: they play a part in the End of the World. The Dragons of Earth and the Dragons of Heaven now must fight for the destruction or safety of the world. But is this troubled Kamui really the key to saving the world?

While perhaps a weird recommendation to make, the apocalyptic and tragic feel of Blue Seed is also prevalent in X TV, -- but shown in a much, much better manner. There's no ecchi to be found in X TV, and it definitely is a lot darker (and more plot intensive the entire time). If you liked Blue Seed, X should be a good bet.

Zaion ~i wish you were here~

In the present time, the meteorite-based M-34 virus is being spread at a horrific pace: infecting thousands, and mutating their bodies into alien-like creatures who destroy everyone in their path. While NOA -- an elite team of cybernetic soldiers -- work to contain the threat, a new weapon named Ai is being trained to destroy the virus once and for all. Unknown to all are her true powers -- especially once she falls in love with NOA member Yuji. Time is running out.. who will inherit the earth? The virus, or humanity?

Both of these series revolve around strange mutating things, either people or plants and animals. Also very strong in both is the love relationship between the main characters and unlocking hidden, yet crucial powers.
