Bleach

Bleach

Fifteen-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki is a typical teen with fighting skills, two caring sisters and a special trait: he can see ghosts. However, when Ichigo and his family find themselves under attack by a huge beast, Ichigo discovers that there’s more to the supernatural world than the everyday specter. Vengeful spirits known as Hollows roam the world in search of devouring souls, and Shinigami – soul reapers – work tirelessly to defeat them and guide normal ghosts into a place called Soul Society. Ichigo valiantly fights the Hollow that threatens his sisters, but on the verge of defeat a Shinigami named Rukia gives him her powers, turning him into a Shinigami himself. Ichigo must now adjust to his new life of both vanquishing and saving souls for the sake of Soul Society.

Blood+ is darker than Bleach, but they are both about fighting and have awesome sword fights. Blood+ is about vampires and has a little bit of gore, but it still has a lot in common with Bleach. You'll get the same feeling from both anime.

soccerdory

I enjoyed both Animes immensely. Both center around a main character who has amazing powers, and have to use them to help save their loved ones. They both also wield a sword. If you loved one, you will reallllly love the other.

Rizu

While Bleach is a far longer series, sporting a more light and episodic feel, both it and Blood+ feature an abnormally strong protagonist battling against evil creatures that desire to rule/destroy the world. Along the way they confront the typical issues of right vs. wrong and the areas in between, and the troubles of maintaining relationships when faced with the challenges of saving the world.

That said, Blood+ is a good deal darker and deeper than Bleach (the latter tending to have more humorous/light scenes, and quite a lot more filler), and the strongest connection between them is intense, action-filled sword-fighting, wielded to battle grotesque looking monsters in an attempt to save the world.

jurexplay

Hmm, I think the most similiar thing in these anime is using swords as a main weapon. In both of them the mission of main characters is to kill Hollows/Monsters(Ch..something). Also the level of drama is comperable in both series although Bleach has occasional and quite good comedic reliefs while Blood+ is kept in dark and gloomy atmosphere form the beggining up to the end. I think that both anime are worth a watch for action oriented anime fans.

Howlingwar

The sword is used in both animes. Although Blood+ is a tad more violent the art in it is quite stunning(note: not in some) In both animes it tell of what it would be like if this fantasy were to be true.

Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist

Once upon a time, two brothers passed the happy days of their childhood by studying alchemy, which is governed by the equal transfer principle: an eye for an eye -- you can't get more than you give. But these brothers tried to defy that law, and a horrific accident resulted. Now, the older brother, Edward, is called the Full Metal Alchemist because of his metal limbs, and the younger, Alphonse, is a soul without a body, trapped within the confines of an automaton. Together they search for the power to restore themselves, to find the lives they lost so long ago...

Thematically, Blood+ and Fullmetal Alchemist don't have much in common, but I think they're of similar quality and share some aspects. They both run about the same length and might appear as typical action shows from afar but really focus on story and character over the next new villain. They aren't tangibly that similar, but I think if you really like one you'll probably like the other.

freakzilla

Both Blood+ and Full Metal Alchemist have nothing to do with each other on the surface. Yet after taking a deeper look, all of the components for success are the same: there's a strong storyline, a lot of character development as they uncover more of the truth, and the supporting figures who interact with the main character.

azntenniskid

Both Blood+ and FMA are a bit dark, have a little bit of gore, and lots of action and fighting. Only in Blood+ the main person fights with a sword instead of with spells and powers. Also Blood+ is about vampires and FMA isn't, but I think that the feeling you get with both anime is the same. I really recommend them; if you liked one, you'll like the other.

Rizu

Both FullMetal Alchemist and Blood+ delve into the dark points of human (or non-human) nature, and both feature intense battles, mostly of a good versus evil nature. Although, often the character thought of as "bad" or "evil" is later revealed to have more facets to their character than that.

Blood+ initially seems to be a dark and bloody tale, but quickly expands to more than that (relationships, maturation, world-saving, the works), while FMA seems to work in slightly the other direction, though neither sinks into utterly depressing territory-- hope persists in both.

Obiyer

The same adult themes are there, and the way they try to scientifically address the ideas they are presenting, FMA, alchemy, Blood+, a species resembling vampires, is done in the same spirit. If you enjoyed learning more about Alchemy in FMA you'll also enjoy learning about chiroptera, as it's represented in Blood+. Be forewarned though, if you enjoyed the chibi humor in FMA there is none to be had in Blood+.

Lunar Legend Tsukihime

With a past shrouded in mystery and a blank memory, Shiki Tohno seems to be just another "average high school student". That is, until he nearly kills a female vampire with his secret deadly ability to "see the lines". His journey to unlock the secrets of the Tohno family and unbury his own lost memories has only just begun, and now he must also help the woman, Arcueid Brunestud, find a lethal phantom named Roa, and kill it using his ability.

Both Blood+ and Tsukihime are about vampires, are calm, have romance, and stress family over action. There're even similar plot twists in them.

vernanonix

Blood-sucking, special ways of killing, and a main character with missing memories. Blood+ and Lunar Legend both share these aspects. The mood of Blood+ is a bit lighter, however and LLT is much shorter but overall, they're very compareable. If you like one, you should like the other.

wolfangel87

The aspect that I found most striking between Lunar Legend Tsukihime and Blood + was the fact that both of the main characters lost parts of their memories.  The journey in each series of how they are able to overcome these difficulties and strive for what they are looking for is heartfelt for each character.

Tokko

Tokko

Ranmaru is young cop with a dark past. As one of the few survivors of a mindless slaughter in his apartment block, he joins a special unit called TOKKI to avenge his parents. On his first case, the already ghastly murder scene turns to one of terror, as the inhuman killers start to massacre the police. After being saved at the last minute by a secret unit named TOKKO who wield swords instead of guns, Ranmaru's mind is filled with questions and he is determined to find out the answers, no matter what it takes. What are these monsters, and why did they recognize him?

RaptorClaw

Both Blood+ and Tokko feature main characters that are taken away from their normal lives and plunged into violent combat. Although with heavy gore and lengthy fights, the series actually focus on their feelings as they come to accept their gifts and the responsibility of power.

Day22

Both these anime's have their fair share of violence. They both have supernatural aspects to their plots. The character's are pretty similar and the plots are fairly close

shikamaru181

Both of these series focus on their main character's being forced into a world they don't want to be in and how their emotions and they themselves change as they begin to accept their destiny and new power. They both also involve demons, or demon like beings and their very gory deaths.

wolfangel87

Blood+ and Tokko have main characters that are thrust out of their daily lives into a whole new type of world.  Both have to live up to their own potential and change their own perspective of how to overcome the challenges that face them and the enemies they encounter.

Trinity Blood

Trinity Blood and Blood+ both give off a kind of boring vibe, with lots of talking and development between the characters. However, when they get to a part with action, they both surpass all expectations, making the boring parts worth it.

tammyphantom303308

This is another anime that includes blood and vampires. Trinity Blood is an awesome anime for anyone who loves Blood+, Vampires, the past, and present. Following the story of Father Abel Nightroad, this anime includes a battle between vampires and humans and it also includes romance.

risuta

If you liked Blood+, then you will LOVE Trinity Blood. The reason is simple: Interesting Characters, Blood, Many Creatures that are not Human! Blood+ was not as good as I thought it would be, but Trinity Blood was indeed the best thing to watch after B+, since I was looking for a dark anime with a good plot. I am sure you will really enjoy watching T.B. if you enjoyed B+.

sassy1415

Both are action-packed, vampire themed - but with a more serious tone to them (vs cutesy or love themed vampire series)
