After witnessing one of the deaths for herself, Shiki begins to realize that a strange connection exists between each of the girls, and predicts a total of eight will die. With seven dead and the accuracy of her prediction unclear, she sets out to put an end to the killings. both Blood+ and Kara no Kyoukai have a very well defined horror aspect. Both of them have a female main protagonist who possesses superpowers.Even though there are differences, while Blood+ has a deep drama aspect Kara no Kyoukai is strictly concentrated on horror aspects. But in what i mentioned above this animes are very much alike and i think that if you seen one of them you will like the other one as well.

Both series showcase an underground secret world (youkai = chiropteran). Both has a revolutionary from an evil group who decided to fight his/her own kind (nue = saya). both feature a symbiotic bordering on servanthood partnership between two people (the karas and yurine = saya and hadji)

Kurozuka

Kurozuka

In feudal Japan, Kurou and his servant Benkei are fleeing from Kurou's elder brother, who has recently ascended to the throne. In a forest, they come across a house and a strange woman by the name of Kuromitsu, who agrees to harbor them under one condition: that they do not peer into the inner chambers. Soon, they are attacked by the Red Army; they are searching for Kuromitsu, whose blood holds immortality. Fatally wounded, Kurou drinks some of Kuromitsu's blood and gains immortality along with strange abilities; but shortly after, Kurou is seemingly decapitated and wakes up centuries later in a ruined city. In this twisted future the Red Army is omnipresent and still searching for Kuromitsu’s blood, while a rebel army seeks to keep them from acquiring it. With threats at every turn and fueled by his obsession, Kurou sets forth to find Kuromitsu and seek his revenge on the Red Army.

Besides the fact that both feature a swordweilding vampire who has lost most of their memories both series just have an overall dark atmosphere to them.  Each series also feature a main protagonist that has some relation to the main character who also has to fight against the much superior fighting force of their enemy.  Both series feature some rather nice action and a story that will make the viewer what to know a little bit more about the characters and just the story overall.

Both characters, Saya and Akira, are dragged to fight with monsters to save people. They both have a great story and great twists and a pretty dark mood but also some funny moments. Also in both series they have to fight to stablish a balance beetween two different worlds.
