Arc the Lad

Arc the Lad

This is a story that follows Elk, a boy blessed by the spirit of fire. When Elk was a child his village was destroyed by a dark force that now seeks to plunge all humanity into chaos, by releasing the great darkness that is sealed within the Ark of the Spirits. Elk, along with Arc the chosen hero of the spirits and the brave crew of the silver noah, fight for the hope of all mankind.

bounty hunters are cool, especially Daisuke... and alita has personal relation skills that may be even worse than elks own. Alita also has the gritty feel that Arc the lad did, but even more so

Ergo Proxy

Ergo Proxy

In a futuristic world almost barren of life, mankind is confined to mechanized domed cities where A.I.’s control all aspects of life. In this world, humans are no longer born, they are manufactured in a production line; and alongside them live androids known as autoreivs. Within one of these domed sanctuaries named Romdeau lives Re-l Mayer, one of a few citizens who aren’t entirely prevented from thinking. Her grandfather's prominent position and the affection of the scientist Daedalus have left her more free will than is normally allowed, but Re-l has started to question the sanctity of the city and the citizens' perfect way of life. With mysterious beings known as proxies causing havoc and a man named Vincent causing great influence on her life, Re-l must travel outside of the city to find the answers she seeks and discover the mystery behind "the awakening".

What makes a man, what makes a robot? Both of these animes are simply put: Amazing. You are simply in tears by the end. Both anime give off the feel of a star-crossed lovers theme. I am of the opinion the creators of Ergo Proxy were fans of Alita. You can see it in the artstyles and some similar situations. (The Dumpsites) If you liked on I'm certain you'll like the other.

What do you get when you cross a robot, a baby, a parasol, and a homicidal personality? Just one of the players in a futuristic and violent game of life and death. Children with guns, demented astronauts, slick shade-wearing badasses, robots gone wrong and more clash in a bloody and frantic experience through the streets of a dystopic city.

For me Extra seemed like Battle Angel Alita on drugs :P Anyway, you could check it out since its only a short musicvideo.

Heat Guy J

Heat Guy J

In the futuristic city of Judoh, some dangers are too much for the police--they require Special Force agent Daisuke Aurora and his robot partner J! When the city's massive underworld is rocked by upheaval, Daisuke and J must struggle to contain gang bosses battling for supremacy. But is there more going on than meets the eye? Who is behind the sudden rise of a previously minor politican to the top of Judoh's underground? How are the mysterious Celestials, who watch Judoh from above, involved? And what secrets lie hidden in Daisuke's own past--and inside J's memory?

Masakari
Both Battle Angel and Heat Guy J feature a combat robot as their primary (or one of the primary) characters. Both shows have a lot of action in them, although the action in Battle Angel is more gory and violent. Both shows also have stong dramatic plots or themes underlying the action, and explore the quasi-parental relationship of a scientist with a robot they have created.

TheGiftedMonkey

Heartwarming stories about mechanical girls who fight for the things they love. No matter how much they fight, the past always seems to catch up to them.
