Even though these anime are completely different, the action is similar as well as the feeling. Bloodlust is fairly dark and violent, in a way that Bastard is. You will love it!

If you liked the main character in either of these series, you're likely to like the other. They're both of the most anti-heroic sort among anti-heroes and there are not many others like them. Gokudo and Dark Schneider pretty much do whatever they feel like which can be a big relief from all the clichéed hero types.

Both Bastard!! and Amon Saga have that same "sword & sorcery" feeing, and feature fantasy worlds in which monsters roam free and great tyrannical rulers try and conquer all the good and just nations of the world.

Of course, while in Amon Saga our hero is truly a hero who must face his trials in the usual way, in Bastard our hero simply beats the piss out of everything -- being so overpowering, he can just do whatever he pleases. Both of them, however, are out for revenge and have an archenemy that they want revenge on (who, in both cases, happens to be a tyrannical ruler out to conquer/destroy the entire world).

Bastard!! and Samurai Deeper Kyo center around a similar scenario: a extremely powerful and self serving warrior is trapped in the body of someone much less powerful. What follows is the journey to try to free themselves from their weaker host, resulting in numerous battles against more traditional evil forces. If you enjoyed the battles in one of these series, you should be right at home with the other.
