Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon

Life can be tough when you're a teenager. Enter Tsukino Usagi, an average, if somewhat clumsy, junior high student whose voracious appetite for sweets and capacity for tears are offset by her enthusiasm for life. Her normal existence is suddenly turned upside down when a talking cat named Luna comes into her life. Suddenly, Usagi finds herself with the ability to transform into the superhero known as Sailor Moon. Fighting the occasional monster may be the least of her worries, though...

When you look at the serious moments of plot development, Sailormoon and Ayashi no Ceres have quite a bit in common. While the focal point of the plot is the romance of the main characters and their inescapable destinies, the supporting characters offer as much emotional turbulence and you really empathize with them.

Both Sailor Moon and Ayashi no Ceres have an air of fantasy and mystery about them.  They also both deal with love relationships and are set in a high school environment.  Both series deal with magic and transformations and the heroine having to take it upon herself to do what is best for her friends and family.

RoyalStarPrincess

There is a lot of love and loss and missing memories. I recommend both, very good, and sad. There is some similarity between them.

The main characters in AnC and 3x3 Eyes have a dark alternate personality, and must go on a journey to understand who they are. On the way, they make new friends to help them overcome their hardships.

MalteseFalcon

Powerful creatures of legend trapped in the body of a human female, Parvati IV from 3x3 Eyes and Ceres from Ayashi no Ceres immidiately share some similarities. Together with their sworn protectors, they set out in an attempt to free themselves from the powers that would imprison them.

Blood+

Blood+

In world where flesh-eating monsters roam the streets, only one organization has the means to save civilization from annihilation: Red Shield, a specially-organized unit designed to fight these monsters, and the only weapon that can destroy them: Saya. Awakened from a 30-year sleep, Saya is thrust into a modern world which she has no memories of, and is troubled by a past filled only with bloodshed and sadness. With the undying love and support of her family and friends, she struggles to gain the strength to move forward and regain the pieces of her shattered memories.

Both Blood+ and Ayashi no Ceres are about twins and there are deep dark secrets in the past that must be discovered and brought to light. Each twin has a different purpose and this is discovered throughout the series. If you liked one then you will definitely love the other.

wolfangel87

Ayashi no Ceres and Blood + have twins that have hidden secrets in their past.  The heroines of the story do not know what that past is and have to go on a kind of mission or quest to find out how they came to be there.  Their dark secrets have to come to light.

Elfen Lied

Elfen Lied

For Kouta and Yuka, finding the bloody naked young girl on the beach would change their lives forever, for better or for worse. Unable to speak or function as a normal human being, she is named Nyu by the duo, and taken into their home in an effort to save her. But what neither teenager knows is that this innocent young girl is actually a killing machine -- an experiment gone terribly wrong -- and it is only a matter of time before the murderer in her awakens again...

I think if you like one of these anime you'd like the other one because it has personality switches and some violence, both very good.

Starletka

Ayashi no Ceres is kind of a shoujo version of Elfen Lied. They both involve a lot of bloodbaths and switching personalities.

Kaze no Stigma and Ayashi no Ceres are both about matters of honor. Kazuma regains his honor by becoming a contractor for the wind god, as well as a useful ally to the very family that rejected him because he was unable to master the use of fire magic; Ceres regains her honor as an "Angel" because she is forced to stay earthbound and live as a human until she finds the garment that will enable her to return to heaven.

wolfangel87

Kaze no Stigma and Ayashi no Ceres both revolve around the honor of the people involved.  They have a similar situation with supernatural powers and untapped powers.
