MD Geist II: Death Force

MD Geist II: Death Force

Since the activation of the Death Force program, mankind has virtually been wiped off the face of Jerra by brutal, flesh-eating war machines. A pocket of survivors live inside an island fortress led by Krauser, a MD (Most Dangerous) soldier. However, unlike MD Geist who lives only to fight, Krauser is motivated by his own ambitions for fame and power. The final battle between Krauser and Geist approaches, and with endless machines on their trail, there appears to be little hope left for humanity.

What does Death Force have to do with Apocalypse Zero? Everything. Two badass OVAs but Death Force to a lesser extent, and to lesser quality if you can believe that. Still, both are packed with blood, violence, manly action, some awesome buttrock music that can heighten scenes of carnage, plenty of morals and terrible dubs. Also armor, the kind that badass people use to murder the everloving crap out of people. Neither have plots worth mentioning but you're here for the violence, and you get violence. This may not be the 80s, but it's 1996 and it punches the year in the balls.

Violence Jack 1: Harlem Bomber

Violence Jack 1: Harlem Bomber

Time has passed since a comet struck Earth, causing catastrophic damage and decimating the population. After a giant earthquake destroyed the Kanto region of Japan, its citizens were left alone and lawless in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. One man known as the Slum King rose from the ashes and took power of the area, forcing any captured women to become sex slaves and ruling the remaining population with an iron fist. He's rivaled by only one man: Violence Jack, a giant who roams from place to place, protecting the innocent and shedding ample blood in the process. Mari is a young woman who is captured by the Slum King's minions on her way to find her missing boyfriend Ken; though as she's being 'trained' for her new life of servitude, Ken - who is now working for the Slum King - sees the situation and tries to free her. However, he fails, and thus finds himself forced to do the impossible: kill the Slum King's enemy - Violence Jack.

If you have a strong stomach and want some really gross over the top violence then try either one of these titles. The plot, characters and settings hardly matter in either of these titles, they are both all about the shock factor. Both of these anime have some pretty horrible acts of sexual violence that will turn off even the most hardcore viewers, but if you still want to test yourself with some truly over the top gore then either of these titles should fit the bill. Just don't complain when you're having nightmares about a giant demon woman tearing your face off and using it as nipple pastie.

Violence Jack 3: Hell's Wind

Violence Jack 3: Hell's Wind

After a massive earthquake rocked the Kanto region of Japan, the landscape remains decimated and towns of survivors are few and far between. One settlement dubbed ‘Hope Town' has previously been kept safe from invaders and danger, but one day the infamous Hell's Wind biker gang rolls into town. Known for being brutal and merciless, they quickly lay waste to the buildings, capture all of the townspeople and get set to rape a woman named Keiko. However, at the last second a badly-scarred, battle-hardened Jun appears; Hell's Wind previously had captured her and her boyfriend, viciously murdered her love and raped and left her for dead. Now, Jun and an unlikely companion - the giant Violence Jack - will try to put a stop to Hell's Wind and rescue Keiko!

Worlds that gone into the toilet, badasses that smite evil to bring justice or less badness to the world and some plots you can't really care about. Violence abound, cheese dubs, a bit lacking in equality and for Apocalypse Zero, some mature content not safe for your brain. Apocalypse Zero over Violence Jack 3, but both are still crap. Violent crap from yester decade.
