Both feature very human elements- of the lesser degree- and speaks volumes of the true nature of man.

Aoi Bungaku is not as action packed[though very violent at times] but it still ventures into the realms of the darker side of the human mind. Few several short stories it makes valuable comparisons between natural human emotion and severe psychosis, all the while maintaining a fast-paced story to keep the viewer interested.

If you like action, vice violence mixed in with your intelligent observation of society, this is a show for you.

Ergo Proxy

Ergo Proxy

In a futuristic world almost barren of life, mankind is confined to mechanized domed cities where A.I.’s control all aspects of life. In this world, humans are no longer born, they are manufactured in a production line; and alongside them live androids known as autoreivs. Within one of these domed sanctuaries named Romdeau lives Re-l Mayer, one of a few citizens who aren’t entirely prevented from thinking. Her grandfather's prominent position and the affection of the scientist Daedalus have left her more free will than is normally allowed, but Re-l has started to question the sanctity of the city and the citizens' perfect way of life. With mysterious beings known as proxies causing havoc and a man named Vincent causing great influence on her life, Re-l must travel outside of the city to find the answers she seeks and discover the mystery behind "the awakening".

Both feature very human elements- of the lesser degree- and speaks volumes of the true nature of man. Much of the story focuses on love[[lust, maybe, but still the insatiable drive from one for another] and let's just say that tragedy is not an uncommon result[again, the anime keeps touch with reality].

While Aoi Bungaku is episodic and Denpa Teki is linear, Denpa Teki has a similar feel to some of Aoi Bungaku's storylines. Insanity and bloodlust with a tinge of supernaturality, they each give you a peek into the character's personal brands of crazy.

Denpa Teki has more blood and violence and is set in modern times, but they are both good 'horror' type anime.

Night Head Genesis

Night Head Genesis

It is said that humans fear what is different, and that such fears drive much of human behavior. Naoto and Nayao learned the brutal truth of this statement when they see the looks on their parents’ faces, the day they were sent to an isolated laboratory to live out their youth. Their crime? Possessing inherent psychic abilities. Yet now, the brothers have escaped and are at last free to experience the world, but they soon discover that their prison was also their protection from the outside world. The question is, are their powers more dangerous to themselves, or those around them?

Both series are quite psychological. The atmosphere is some what dark, kind of serius and there is something more  that make me wonder why you must watch both. In Night Head Genesis, Naota and Naoya had strong bonds of brotherhood, the same you can figure out in Aoi Bungaku series, in the chapter of Run, Melos!

These anime are a stylish take on classical Japanese literature with an edgy approach. They capture the feeling of their respective source material and apply a sleek anime aesthetic without compromising on the content. The off-beat attitude and dark psychological focus are also very alike.

Boogiepop Phantom

Both have multiple story arcs that are extremely dark and emotionally disturbing. The emotional level could be really complex to understand since there are a lot of suicidal thoughts or low-self-esteem characters.

Aoi Bungaku adapts classic Japanese literature coming from various authors, Boogiepop comes from a light novel but it takes place in a more modern society while the former is a bit into the historical side since the novels are from the last century.

Bungo and Alchemist: Gears of Judgement

Bungo and Alchemist: Gears of Judgement

The series follows a group of historic writers (all based on real people) who use their special abilities to rescue books that have been cursed by the “Taints,” an evil force. While its premise is fantastical, the series’ core focus will be on its characters, some of whom you may recognize, including Ryunosuke Akutagawa and H.P. Lovecraft.

Both Animes talk about famous japanese tale books with different concepts. Aoi Bungaku Series animate the story as how it discribed in book while Bungo and Alchemis mix it's unique storyplot with book storys and almost make it like a adventure story but in the book those story feel more drak. Some tales like Run, Melon. In Wood beneath the cherry blossome in full bloom are appeared in both animes. Overall if you just want to know some famous tales time pass try Bungo and Alchemist or if you want to feel the deepth and darkness of tales try Aoi Bungaku.
