both animes have a conection in the action area. There are plenty of battles and quarells. Very little Romance, love triangles, and confusion. Great animation style and charrectors. D.N Angel is more of a tale about a teenage boy who has love problems... while Angelic Layer is about a girl with mommy issues.

Both Angelic Layer and Gakuen Alice are about a little girl who wants to try her best and prove herself in a world she has never seen before so she can be with the person she cares about. Both series have a cute and dramatic side. If you like the tone of one, you will probably like the other too.

Eighteen years ago, the Platinum Tiara, which gives its wearer magical powers, was reassembled. At the same time, five "Princesses" were born, to the worlds of Earth, Heaven, Celestrial, Fairy, and Hell. These five princesses quit maturing at the age of 10, and are all competing to become THE Platinum Princess so they can grow up. This story is centered on Yuuchi, from the kingdom of Earth.
They may not seem similar at first glance, but Petite Princess Yucie and Angelic Layer are close cousins where it counts - focus and tone.
Both focus on determined young girls (the girls in Yucie might as well be twelve) chasing a dream, both focus on friendship and teamwork, and both are ultimately about growing up and family (fathers and daughters for Yucie, mothers and daughters for Angelic Layer). They also both feature romances that are not central to the overall story without feeling tacked-on in the process.Mostly, though, both leave you with a similar feeling when you're done: a feeling of warm and fuzzy triumph.
