In the future, the net is connected to everything - from streetlights to kitchens. Each new convenience brings an opportunity for people to manipulate it. To facilitate the use of the net and to protect people from its dangers, citizens buy or create "pets". These cyber-creations not only help to find data, but also, protect them from threats. Rockman EXE revolves around a young boy, whose father has sent him a new prototype called Rockman.
Rockman.EXE and Angelic Layer have many similarities. First and foremost is the element of using humanoid toys to battle opponents in an arena area. Beyond that, while Rockman.exe's battle characters are sentient and Angelic Layer's are just toy, there is also the emotional bond that the user forms with their battling character, and their desire to obtain their dreams. Both series have a similar feel, so if you enjoyed one, you might like the other.

In both series doll and owner are involved in a serie of fights.
Even if this one has a totaly diferent "felling" the global idead is similar.
What could they really not have in common---both anime center on dolls that are destined to fight one another and depend on humans to use the best of their abilities. Well, the only difference is that the Rozen Maidens are more human-like whereas the Angels are almost completely controlled by their human. Regardless, they are very similar and are a good watch.
Both series revolve around fighting dolls but in Angelic Layer, the dolls are toys controlled by kids. In Rozen Maiden, the dolls are self aware and use thier owners life force to power themselves. Rozen Maiden is given a more dramatic feel while Angelic Layer is more of a friendly competition. If you like to see dolls fighting than you'll love both of these series.
Both Angelic Layer and Busou Shinki Moon Angel have the same kind of style where the human controls the doll. Angelic Layer has more of a storyline though where Busou Shinki Moon Angel is a quick romp of doll fighting fun. Check em out.
Both series use the same ideas- robot dolls that are mind controlled and used to enter battle tournaments- however Angelic Layer focuses more on the tournaments, the characters of the opponents and their dolls. Busou Shinki Moon Angel focuses more on a single boy and his friendship with his doll- wanting to prove how much she means to him by helping her remember exactly who she is and rescuing her from enemies.
Angelic Layer is more feminine and heartfelt and Busou Shinki is loaded full of adrenaline battles and robots with guns- definately a shounen version of Angelic Layer.
Both series have such beautiful doll designs. Worth watching.
I know most people might read this and have no clue what I am going on about. but I only realsed this when my little sister while watching gundam build fighters said " I want a gunpla, there so awesome how you can control them and fight each other", which if you think about is the exact same concept as angelic layer other than its doll's fighting instead of mecha's.
so if you enjoy anime's about tournaments and battles between human controlled toys you will like either of these anime's
I second this. Minitures you control sent in for the fight.
Both of these have a similar vibe.
