Beyond the Boundary

Beyond the Boundary

In a world where supernatural beings known as youmu are hunted by Spirit World Warriors, Akihito lives an eventful life. He’s a half-breed from a human mother and a youmu father, and is immortal - a fact that saves his life on a regular basis, for his bespectacled classmate Mirai can’t seem to stop stabbing him in the chest. She’s a Spirit World Warrior with the power to control her blood, which she manifests into a sword; and with low self esteem about her abilities to hunt youmu, Mirai constantly uses Akihito as target practice. In hopes of being left alone, Akihito must now help Mirai gain confidence to take down sinister youmu.

Initially, you may think these two shows have huge contrasts, but in fact both have themes that they share. In both of these shows we have our characters fight for the cause they believe in, in Angel Beats thinkng that they'll disappear if they stop fighting while in Beyond the Boundary they fight an actual villain. We also see the importance of friendship and teamwork impacting the lives of the characters giving us a touching story that also has a sprinkle of romance.

Beyond the Boundary does have a bit more action elements than Angel Beats yet both shows have their own flair. If you enjoy one, you will definitely enjoy the other.

In both of these shows we have a group of people attempt to achieve their dreams regardless of the trying circumstances they find themselves in. During these stories, the characters come to terms with their inner demons through friendship, yet the setting for both of these stories is completely different.

In both Zombieland Saga and Angel Beats, we have musical numbers done by the characters, yet while Zombieland Saga is an idol show, Angel Beats uses their musical numbers to convey a more emotional approach.

If you're looking for shows about a group of people wishing to achieve their dreams despite their trying circumstances, you will definitely like both of these shows.

Clearly, you got your heart broken by either anime, and if you want more, the other is perfect for you. At first, they are kind of happy. They feel good, and not only are you confused, but the characters are too. Boom, you're already relating to the characters. Great start (kinda). Both are just long enough for you to go through a rollercoaster of things with the characters and get emotionally attached to them. Backstories and all. Not only that, but they both leave you wondering about the ending while you're watching the show. Then, mixed feelings about the ending. Both have action, comedy, and make you feel for the characters. You broke your heart once. Why not have another go? <3

And like the legends tell, they're transported to another world where conflicts, peoples' lives and even country borders are decided by competitions and games. Always up for a challenge, the pair quickly take on the obstacles that come their way, whether it be restoring lowly humanity's good name compared with the other races or helping influence who will become the next king.

Both anime have characters fighting for a cause. The cast in Angel Beats are fighting God and the cast in Land of the Luscious are fighting the Moon. Both anime have main characters who shine and a lot of side characters who are just there. Also, the characters are “immortal” until a specific event/action happens to them. Both are one season long and have some funny and sad moments.

Both titles play wonderfully with extremely beautiful and thoughtprovoking themes, which play well in the childish manner in which the shows are presented. The feeling you get when watching both theese to are similar, and I havent found them anywhere else
