What if roller skates had high power engines that enabled the skaters to do stunning new tricks that defy gravity? What if you saw a beautiful girl effortlessly glide through the air with them? Ride Back

Ride Back

Amidst the turbulent revolution of 2025 wrought by the GGP government, Rin Ogata only dreams of becoming a ballerina; like her mother before her, Rin’s grace and agility mean she’s destined for success on the stage. However, an injury and the untimely death of her parents quickly shatter her aspirations and, for once, Rin’s existence seems purposeless. That is, until she enters the garage of a club one day and sits astride a RideBack! The RideBack, a motorcycle with arms and the ability to stand upright, offers Rin a new world of boundless movement! What she doesn’t realize, however, is that this club of RideBack enthusiasts is about to get dragged into the bloody war between the GGP and the terrorists intent on overthrowing them. Life may be more exciting now, but it’s also become very dangerous: will Rin’s natural talents as a pilot be enough in a world where racing is not just for glory, but for survival?

Air Gear, and Ride Back, both anime have something revolving around "Roads", as well as both have racing, talent, and involve flips very few people can seem to do. If you like one, you will probably like the other..

Both of these anime involve the protagonist becoming involved in a "sport" that involves high-powered machines. However, they come head-to-head with the other "players" because of their (the protagonist's) unique style. There is also a running plot about the government's desire to regulate the machines in both anime.

Are you a fan of fun? Do you enjoy watching things that put a smile on your face? Well both of these shows have plenty of laughs and will both "show you a good time" if you know what I mean. The stories aren't too similar, but if you're a fan of the action and comedy in one you will enjoy the other.

Each show involves a male protagonist that, without realizing, quickly becomes one of the most important person on their society. Each is faced with a choice that could change the future of those around him significantly. While each show uses compedy in it's storytelling Air Gear has more of an ecchi feel while Angel Beats is more serious.

Looking for a present day anime, showcasing stupid, but fun characters and ridiculous action/comedy scenes? These two titles are incredibly similar if you do.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

Fumizuki Academy is divided into classes ranked based purely on ability; Class A has laptops, reclining seats and ultimate comfort whereas Class F has to settle for a rundown classroom with rotten cushions and rickety coffee tables. Akihisa Yoshii has recently taken the placement exam and finds himself relegated to the lowly Class F along with many of his friends, and they’re far from impressed with their draughty facilities. Luckily, not all is lost as at Fumizuki, classes can declare war on each other to swap rooms by fighting with summoned characters whose strength is based on the users' test scores. As they dream of escaping their decrepit circumstances, the ‘idiotic’ students of Class F will try whatever they can to reach the dizzy heights of Class A’s luxury, even if it means taking on the entire school in an all-out summoning war!

Two animes with such an emulative spirit ;) The main themes are a kind of similar - main crews of losers rise against the 'high class' and want to prove they are not losers. The main characters are also similar as they have to fight their way to the top. Both animes are pretty mind-blowing and funny. If you liked one, you would definitely like the other.
