Both shows are about young girls who want nothing more than to be big idols and will train as hard as possible to achieve that dream. Complete with strange CG preforming moments these 2 shows are 2 peas in a pod so check them out if you are into shoujo shows that are about idols.

Maverynthia

Both shows are based on a toy franchise that is based on fashion and being an idol. The both involve the MC going from zero to 'hero' and the friends they make along the way. Also the two MCs mothers have something mysterious about them and/or their friends moms have something mysterious about them. So basically, both are designed to try and sell toys/card to you impressionable children as well as being about singing and being a general product for society.

XxnightrosexX

They are both alike in the sense that it's about a girl who stumbles into the entertainment world and will fight to keep her place and progress to become a great person. They make many friends who they will help along the way and who will help them in turn.

shikikywketsuki

Both of these are basied on toys/games and Idols, with these toys you coridate your outfit, whether it is for a catwalk, tv show or ice skating show. fashion plays a huge part in both these animes.

Like everyone else, the reason for their recommandation is good. I like both anime and only started watching Aikatsu! recently, once I started watching more episodes, it sort of reminded of Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream.

Both shows have very energetic girls who face difficulties along their path to stardom, but never give up. If they did, they'd always get back to their feet and work harder. These two are similar because it has cheerful girls who wish to become an idol and work towards it.

Hope you guys enjoy watching Aikatsu! and Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream !!!

Both of these are overly bright and pink shows aimed at young girls. I'm pretty sure if you enjoyed one, you'd enjoy the other.

Like Aikatsu, but think it's a bit too childish? Try Love Live, a series about a group of girls trying to become popular school Idols. The show itself is more complex, characcters are less annoying, and the animation is MUCH better.

Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch

Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch

One clear festive evening, Lucia, a mermaid princess, rescues a young boy from drowning. With him, she leaves the source of her beautiful singing voice: a pink pearl necklace. Several years later, Lucia has grown into a young woman, and embarks on a quest to the human world to reclaim her pearl and find her lost love.

Both of these anime obviously targent the same audience: young girls. Everything about these shows are simple, colorful, and girly. They also both involve singing and dancing. If you enjoyed one, I'd recommend you try the other as well.

The iDOLM@STER

The iDOLM@STER

Everybody knows it's tough being an idol, especially the girls at 765 Production. Made up of thirteen young ladies, the group constantly attempts to improve its image by taking new promo shots and booking the best gigs possible, whether it's being a concert star or a quirky cooking show guest. Led by the kind-hearted and determined Producer, these talented performers such as twins Mami and Ami, quiet Yukiho, clumsy Haruka and gifted singer Chihaya will do their best to become the best idols around.

Enjoyed the idol aspect of Aikatsu, but looking for something a bit more serious (and not designed for 5-year-olds)? Try IdolM@ster, a show about a group of idols trying to make it big in Japan. Like Aikatsu, it tries to show that the idol world requires hard work; but it manages it with less horribly designed outifts, better characters, and better animation.
