In the near future, the outbreak of a terrible disease called the Apocolypse Virus places Japan under the military rule of a global organization called the GHQ - a group tasked with checking the spread of the virus and administering vaccinations. Apathetic high school student Shuu Ouma lives in Tokyo, spending his days editing videos and trying to be left alone. But things change when he meets the beautiful pop idol, Inori, who is on the run from GHQ soldiers. While trying to save her from her captors, he acquires a mysterious power called the Void Gene that allows him to pull items or weapons from anyone under the age of seventeen. Now, Shuu must decide whether to join the efforts of the well-funded radical terrorist group "Funeral Parlor" and fight against the GHQ, or shrug off his newfound power and resume his normal life - assuming that either the GHQ or Funeral Parlor's charismatic leader, Gai, will let him.
Both anime take place in a futuristic setting. Both have the same kind of feeling to them. Both of the leading females are beautiful, popular, and out of the main character's league.
They both contain a crybaby male protagonist on a journey to something rather badass. The story of each are very interesting. However, I would recommend watching at least 3 of Accel World to get into it, and when Guilty Crown seems to be going a bit bad, deal with it because it's definitely worth it!
Japan has reclaimed its former glory under the guidance of Kings, charismatic individuals wielding incredible powers. But now, one of the Red King's vassals has been murdered, and a viral video shows the killer's confession at the scene. He is one Yashiro Isana, claiming to be the Colorless King; and he is now a wanted man - not only to the Red King's faction, but also the Blues charged with keeping the peace. He is even sought by Kuroh Yatogami, a knight of the former Colorless King sworn to slay any unworthy successor. Only, the subject of their struggle, "Shiro", is a nondescript young man living an unremarkable life in an island academy, and seems to have no recollection of killing anyone. To keep his life, Shiro must prove his innocence; but what is the truth behind his mysterious past, and what will be the outcome of this confrontation of Kings?
Both animes have "kings" and both are about different factions of people with different powers. There are some major differences but this simple fact kept reminding me of accel world when watching k
Both are about different colored kings fighting for power, and have a smilar feel. If you liked the politics of one I suggest you check out the other.
Asumi Aida is a cheerful high school student who lives a parallel life inside an online fantasy role-playing game called The World R:X. There her username is Sakuya. While playing together with her classmates Iori Ikuta (username Tobias) and Eri Etou (username Mary) inside the game and having an ordinary treasure hunting adventure, they end up caught in an ominous situation. After an unfortunate encounter with an elite guild and a mysterious player named Hermit, Etou loses consciousness and for an unknown reason is unable to wake up.
These sci-fi anime are about massively popular (VR)MMOs and a main character meeting a very mysterious player, eventually having his/her life turned upside down as a result of meeting/becoming friends with said person. Another trait they have in common is focusing on both the game and the problems of the real world directly caused by either "The World" MMO or the Accel World.
Seven kids are enjoying their summer when suddenly, a digivice appeared before them, and the next thing they know, they are in the "Digiworld." There, they meet creatures known as digimon. There are evil digimon in the Digiworld, but they are not bad in nature; rather, most of them have been turned evil by nefarious forces. Each child had a digimon waiting for them in the Digiworld; and though not all Digimon are strong, the digivice that the seven kids carry has the ability to allow their Digimon partner to evolve into a stronger type. Together, they will going to embark on a journey to save the Digiworld from pure evil and darkness!
both accel world and digimon involve a number of kids having to fight in a digital world. in accel world though the kids are the ones fighting but in digimon they have partners that fight for them. both animes see the main characters trying to defeat the "leaders" in each world, in accel world its the Legion kings and in digimon its the Dark Masters. if you liked digimon and wish to see a more grown up/mature version then you would probably like accel world aswell.
Like most boys his age, the young Renton thinks of nothing but reffing – riding trapar waves on a board – and idolizes Holland, the leader of the renegade group of reffers named Gekko State. As an orphan of a famous hero, he lives a boring life with his grandfather until the beautiful Eureka crashes, literally, into his life. Now, with the help of his newfound friend and crush, Renton finds himself living amongst the crew of Gekko State. The errands are hard and the bullying is fierce, but with Eureka by his side, Renton just might find the courage to tough it out and even save the world!
Both are ostensibly shounen titles in a science fiction setting with stylized mecha action and a romantic bent. Accel World has an obvious harem approach to the romance, where Eureka Seven focuses on a single relationship in great and heartwarming depth. Both shows involve intrigue and drama on multiple levels and a long standing overarching story.
