Mao-chan stars a trio of sweet girls who want to make the world a better place, each with their own special abilities. Both are good shows for young girls.

My Neighbor Totoro

My Neighbor Totoro

Satsuki, her younger sister Mei and their father have just moved to their new home in the countryside, where grand adventures await them. One day while playing outside in the garden Mei encounters a small creature and decides to follow it. After chasing it through the bushes Mei eventually finds herself at the base of a large Camphor tree and as she drops through a hole in its roots, she lands on the stomach of a large, sleeping forest spirit named Totoro. The two sisters befriend the gentle spirit and are soon introduced to a world more fantastical than they could ever imagine, from playing with soot spirits to meeting a Catbus, to flying through the air and even making the trees grow. If you're in the mood for adorable entertainment with characters that you honestly want to cuddle to death, then Sugar and Totoro are for you! Plenty of fluff, and cuteness galore, they're definitely not to be missed!

Nodame Cantabile

Nodame Cantabile

The studious and uptight Chiaki is well-known as the top pianist of his school, and dreams of becoming a world-class conductor like his idol, Viera; but his fear of flying (which makes studying abroad impossible) combined with a recent break-up and dismissal from his piano instructor causes that future to seem both bleak and unlikely. After collapsing outside of his apartment, drunk, Chiaki inadvertently meets a young woman named Nodame who, while quite talented at the piano, is unclean, clumsy, and haphazard. Despite being almost polar opposites, the two begin to grow closer and work, together, to overcome the obstacles in their careers.

The iDOLM@STER: Live For You!

The iDOLM@STER: Live For You!
  • OVA (1 ep x 15 min)
  • 2008

765 Production’s Fan Appreciation Event is only twenty-four hours away, and each of its idols must choose what to do with their time. Haruka, Miki and Chihaya, much to their producer’s dismay, find themselves… far away from the event, with little time to spare! A wrong truck, an onsen, an angry truck driver, a fickle bullet train and a number of other obstacles make the trio’s arrival skeptical at best – however, the show must go on!

I would recommend these shows to fans of music and cute girls. The shows have a very light, happy atmosphere, with minor problems thrown in the way of the main characters.
