White Album

White Album

Touya Fujii is a young university student who juggles two part-time jobs with his studies so that he can afford to live. The most important thing in his life is his girlfriend Yuki, but since she is an up and coming idol they barely get a chance to talk, let alone see each other. With her managers keeping a close watch on her and attempting to prevent their relationship, it seems that Touya and Yuki will simply have to make the most of their fleeting moments together. However, they do have one person fighting in their corner: Yuki’s friend - the famous idol Rina Ogata - hires Touya in order to create opportunities for the pair to be together. Unfortunately he is promptly fired when the production company discover her plan. When she pledges to make it up to him, Touya begins to wonder if Rina is all that she seems, and why is she going to so much trouble for him and Yuki?

BlackVoid

These 2 are very similar. In addition to hvaing the exact same characters, they also have similar stories and situations. One girl tries to get a guy and another girl together, although girl #1 likes the guy too.

Both series aren't afraid to bring up sex and mature themes either.

kio3459

Both animes deal with same types of genres (romance, lots drama, heavy subjects like sex).  If you "hated" or "liked" School days you'll definitely feel the same with White Album.  Trust me... you'll feel the same.

when i watched white album, it reminded me of school days, both series deal with the guy's relationship with multiple girls, usually past the normal friends' level.

GoGeTa006

Both have a guy thats pimpin it with plenty of girls. . .the ending is a little different. But all the things in the middle are pretty similar, a lot of drama. . .really good stuff!

xxSilencexx

Both animes start light-hearted and develop quickly in too dark story that don't let go, both characters have to come to term with what they have done and the damage it has cause. Also character who look innocent can be very misleading...

wolfangel87

The dark undertones of School Days and Yumekui Merry reveal themselves little by little as the stories unfold.  As the characters develop the heavy weight of their actions come through.

Will he fall for the beautiful and popular Morishima, mischievous childhood friend Kaoru, shy and timid underclassman Sae, dependable class president Tsukasa, hardworking underclassman Ai or his gluttonous childhood friend Rihoko? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: Junichi is determined to make his next Christmas Eve date a successful one!

Datez

Both are concentrated around unreasonable love and date each other. Where one thinks that cannot live without another one and especially no more details about private life or personality of characters are explained. Both based on dating ero games where you have to choose one of girls. Amagami SS depicts what happens in all possible choices, whereas School Days shows tragic consequences of bad choice among all other possible bad choices.

Ayakashi - Japanese Classic Horror

Ayakashi - Japanese Classic Horror

The dark and brooding Ayakashi is composed of three horror stories: the narration of a young woman named Oiwa who was abandoned and betrayed by the one she truly loved, leading her to curse all who stood in her way; a story of two star-crossed lovers – a human and a forgotten god – and their struggle to have a future together; and the tale of an evil and malicious demon who is haunting and murdering a family for unknown purposes. Though different in animation style and tone, each story shares a similar theme: the darkness of the human heart.

They're not in the same genre, but both School Days and Ayakashi feature a cast of self-centered jerks, themes involving desperation and revenge, and really unfortunate love triangles that end in the absolute worst way imaginable.

Despite all this (or maybe because of it), I really enjoyed both, and you might too.
