One clear festive evening, Lucia, a mermaid princess, rescues a young boy from drowning. With him, she leaves the source of her beautiful singing voice: a pink pearl necklace. Several years later, Lucia has grown into a young woman, and embarks on a quest to the human world to reclaim her pearl and find her lost love.
Magical girls that fight with singing. Both seem to be aimed at young girls. They are a perfect match for one another.
Both are fluffy, relatively useless shoujo titles about magical girls and a whole lot of singing. They will appeal to the same audience, hands down.
These magical girls change clothes to sing, and sing to solve problems or fight enemies. Even better, they use the same song enough times that you can't help but learn the words. If you liked either Mermaid Melody or Hime Chen!, you're bound to like the other.
MKR is a Clamp anime about three girls who are taken from Tokyo during a school field trip, and transported into a fantasy world. Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuzaaki, and Fuu Hououji must fight a slew of enemies, overcome trials and tribulations, and face their inner demons to save Cephiro, a wonderfully detailed world, from a dastardly evil and powerful Priest, Zagato.
Three girls living normal lives are chosen by the ruler of a magical world to save the enchanted kingdom from the dangers that threaten it. In one show, it's by making people happy, and in the other, it's by fighting, but both groups of girls laugh a lot, get crushes, and hang out with cute mascots.

If you liked Ojamajo Doremi or Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri, you'd also like the other, because they have both little girls that can transform to fight for the good for something good. The characters are really like each other and are all very cute.

Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri and Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi while not only both having very long names also revolve around different fairy tale type styles that are set in the anime. Each series is a very ‘cute’ type of show.
As a small child, Souta lost his mother. He was left only with a fairy tale she had told him, of the world split into two by the will of God, into a world of science and a world of magic. Now, it has become apparent that this tale is at least partly true, and that Souta is the all-important Key of Elde, the linchpin of our world of science. To protect him, the fairy musketeer Akazukin (Red Riding Hood) and her fellow musketeers Shirayukihime (Snow White) and Ibarahime (Sleeping Beauty) must draw him into their own, magical world of Fandavale. Along the way, they must protect him from the wiles of the wicked Cendrillon (Cinderella) and her minions Hansel and Gretel.
In Otogi-Jushi Akazukin and Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri, the magical world in which fairy tales are real is in danger and it's up to the princesses from these tales to set things right again. The way that these girls work to fix things is different, but the light perky feel of the shows is the same.
